From AI idea to product

Turn your AI product idea into a physical prototype.

I designed a product with ChatGPT or Claude. Who can build it?

Make It Physical helps creators turn AI-assisted product concepts into physical prototypes. We can review electronics and mechanical requirements together, identify missing engineering, and scope sourcing, fabrication, assembly and testing. You can begin with a written idea, an image, CAD files or PCB files. The build is quoted after review.

What AI can give you—and what a build still needs

A conversation with an AI tool can help describe a product, explore features or draft a parts list. Treat that output as proposed information until it has been checked. A convincing rendering or generated file does not establish that the parts fit, the circuit works or the design is suitable for a manufacturing process.

For a useful prototype, define what you want to learn. An appearance model might show size and ergonomics; a functional prototype might demonstrate a sensor reading or a mechanism. Those are different deliverables. We agree the prototype’s purpose and acceptance criteria before committing to a build.

How we take the next step with you

Start by describing the product’s intended use, its essential functions and the information you already have. We review the missing requirements and discuss whether an engineering phase is needed. Development work and fabrication are scoped explicitly, so a concept-stage inquiry is not mistaken for a production-ready order.

After the proposal and design revision are approved, the agreed work can include component sourcing, mechanical fabrication, electronics assembly, wiring and integration. Functional checks are defined for that project. Firmware development or loading, certification, tooling and shipment are included only when expressly agreed.

What to send if you are new to hardware

A short, non-confidential explanation is enough to begin. Describe who will use the product, what it should do and the approximate size. Share a concept image or sketch if you have one, and distinguish required features from optional ideas.

For an electronic product, tell us what it senses or controls, how it is powered and whether it needs a display, buttons or connectivity. For a mechanical product, describe movement, mounting and the objects it connects to. “Not decided yet” is useful information; it is better than an invented specification.

What affects prototype cost and timing?

The amount of engineering, component availability, materials, fabrication process, quantity and test requirements all affect the proposal. A single sample can still require setup work or minimum purchases of components. We confirm those costs and the conditions for starting the schedule after reviewing your requirements.

A successful prototype does not automatically establish production readiness. A repeat build may need a separate review of sourcing, tooling, inspection and design revisions. Tell us whether your immediate goal is a demonstration, a technical test or preparation for a small batch.

Questions about this starting point

Do I need to be an engineer?

No. You can start with a clear product description. We identify the information and engineering work needed before a build can be scoped.

Can I use a different AI tool?

Yes. The tool used to create the idea is not a requirement. Sketches, conventional CAD and existing prototypes are also valid starting points.

Can you promise the AI design will work?

No. Feasibility and missing engineering need review. The proposal defines the work and the functions the prototype is intended to demonstrate.
